ASAP WIZZEL

Among the Underground Musicians participating in the famous upcoming event; Ghana Underground Music Awards, Asap Wizzel is my favorite.

Felix Kofi Jantuah is his name. Jantuah rings a bell right? His uncle is actually the famous Ghanaian boxer; Kofi Jantuah, Alias Pride of Ashanti. The stage name Asap Wizzel was generated from school. His friends use to call him Wizzel and later bored him the name Asap because they say his fashion sense and style of Rap is associated with the popular American Hip-pop Star; ASAP.
Asap Wizzel is strictly a Hip-Pop artist who had the passion for music and have been following music since he was five. Music is part of him. He grew up with Hip-Pop music and that what raised his music passion. He looks up to most of the Popular Hip-Pop artists like Lil Wanye, Asap Rocky and Meek Mills.

He finally released his first song in 2012 tittled swag city (tyga- rack city cover). This song was actually about his involvement in a previous clan called SWAG CITY which he happened to be a member. Sawg City is A CLAN containing talented grounds rappers where he finally separated himself due to some misunderstandings.

Challenges and hard times on his way, yet he is not ready to give up because his fellow Rap colleages motivate him to keep doing what he does best and and to work hard.
Unlike other Undergrounds, Asap sees Ghana music  to be under progressing and static. He is planning as part of his aims to take Ghana music worldwide.

Asap is finally throwing a piece of advice to his fellow underground artists; they should always strive and prosper, and to his fans, they should always keep supporting Ghana music.

SLIM JOEZY (RAP HIP-POP / HIPLIFE ARTIST)

On my usual freaking on the social media, I came across information concerning an award for the Underground Musicians in Ghana. This event known as the GUM AWARDS 2015 is an event organized by Latent Hub to award some talented artists who are on their own to motivate them and also give them a publicity opportunity.

My involvement in this activity has given me the opportunity to come across one talented musician called, Jonathan Osei-Tuffuor whose stage name is SLIM JOEZY.

Slim Joezy made it clear that he is a musician, not an artist and therefore does all genre of Music but performs best in HIP-HOP and HIP-LIFE. He really has a great story to tell, and I guess his fans will be ear-itching to listen.

Slim Joe as I Call him started singing and performing with most popular artist’s songs on stage when he was actually in primary two. He once put a smile on my face when he told me that during his early primary education period, he goes to sit behind a drinking spot near his house and listen to songs after school, because there was no radio at home. In class three, his mother bought him a Walkman which motivated him a lot to listen more songs from the then popular artists like Obrafour, kwaadei, Obour and others which he performed during school programs. At the age of 12, he started writing his own songs till now. ”So today if I cast my mind back I can see that music is my life”.
He made mention of some artists like T.I saying he likes his way of rap, Yaa Pono saying “he speaks his mind” and Obrafour saying his music always teaches.

So far, Slim Joezy has worked harder with a lot of artists and engineers. He is currently on four songs and is working on his new single. He has worked and recorded in studios like Lay Ham Studio, Toontoom Studios, TML Studio, Hit Makers Records and is featuring in the upcoming Ghana Underground Music Awards Cypher. He is also working with One Love DA Kuborlor and other artists like Jay Shady, Kingskid, Regina, Regardless, and Esias.

Aside Slim’s progress, he is facing some challenges which he believes he is going to overcome as he keeps pressing harder. He hardly finances his music career and he strives very hard to support himself and his own music since he has no manager. He is currently working on a job to further his education abroad. He is born to be successful, and as a hard worker, it is his plan to have so many different producers all over the world with one serious manager, an engineer, a personal DJ and wants to take African Music to the Apex since his music teaches as well.

Slim Joezy sees the Ghana Music industry to be doing their best but are only interested in the popular artists. He says the Music Industry should also stretch their hands to the young talented underground musicians for they are the falcons to fly Ghana Music higher. He also pictures the Ghana music Industry to become massive and larger and can see Gospel to overshadow others genres some time to come.

Slim Joezy’s last words are targeted to all other young underground artists like him. They should keep on working harder no matter the challenges they go through. Undergrounds are also not to see each other as enemies and beef each other but come together, collaborate and feature each other to do and produce good music.

SEAN CORPSON (Dancehall Artiste)

I was once watching a programme on TV when a neighbour knocked on my door. We began our conversation with football until we changed the topic to music as a follow up to the programme on TV which was about a music discussion. There, my friend told me about his cousin who is into music and wants to introduce him to me to which I agreed. The next day, my neighbour came with his cousin, SEAN CORPSON. There, I listened to a freestyle of this young guy and I enjoyed him to the max. I fell in love with his style.

Sean Corpson entered into music five years ago. Initially, he was into hip-hop but as he started listening to reggae and dancehall, he developed an interest in that genre of music which gradually changed him into dancehall and Rastafarianism. The influence of popcan, mavado, blakk rhino, vybz kartel made him to fall in love with dancehall the more.
I happened to accompany him to the studio to record his second song after listening to his first, and right from the time the unrecorded song was voiced out, I realised and discovered the spirit and the gift within his soul. This song is actually a mixtape of movado’s starbwoy song which he made his own titled “BADMIND”. hulkshare.com/coinsbankye/aud-20130605-wa0005

Sean corpson was adopted as a stage name because he is a big fan of Sean Paul and that made him to take upon himself, Sean Narvel. As time went on, he realised to use his own name which he used his surname alongside “Sean”; SEAN CORPSON.
He personally told me in a conversation that he is not doing music for money but he believes that music is a talent and something good must come out of it if it is done well to motivate and encourage him do more anything. He is satisfied with anything that comes out of his music if only it is good enough to encourage him.

Even though he has faced, and is still facing some challenges as in people including his parents telling him to put music aside and focus and find something better to do, not earning enough to record and do more music and so on, he is been encouraged by a few friends to do more of what he is doing.
So far, he has recorded 3 to 4 songs and he is asking his few fans to expect more from him. His songs are available at  www.Hulkshare.com/sean-corpson , listen and download if you are really impressed with Sean Corpson’s good works.

Personally, i give him a 5 star, for he is good. What will you give, and how will you rate him. Give me a feedback
